The Superbalanced line includes foundations with a light texture and silky finish. Its special formula works great on oily skin areas, but nevertheless is also great for dry skin types.
Superbalanced Makeup is a top-selling foundation in Clinique’s segment. The manufacturer recommends the product for a mixed type (prone to dryness or prone to oily skin).
The bottle is made of heavy frosted glass with a screw-off cap. The downside of many such foundations in a glass bottle is the lack of a dispenser. It must be bought separately.
It is difficult enough to extract the cream from – under the wide neck. For the contents to come up to the base of the neck, it is recommended to shake the bottle with the foundation before application.
The volume of the contents is 30 ml (this is the standard volume for the brand’s foundations).
In the composition I observe not a small amount of silicones, which is why it is necessary to remove the basis with hydrophilic oil (I, on the other hand, for the dissolution I use a balm from Clinique).
The palette of shades is quite versatile, we can count 12 tones for different skin colors.
According to the Clinic classification, all three shades belong to the very light color range. But in my opinion, the fourth shade does not belong to the light shades.
Before I proceed to the description, I want to remind you again about the decoding of the undertones:
VF – very light;
MF is moderately light;
D – dark;
N is neutral;
P is pink;
G – golden.
01 Petal (P) is the lightest shade in the palette with a pale pinkish undertone, which will not suit girls with very pale skin. I was disappointed when I swatched it on my hand, even the lightest shade seemed dark to me. But on my skin the cream was much better, more or less adjusted to the color of the skin. In the winter time I will add a little bit of lighter color to it, but for the fall, it is perfect (when the light tan is still on the skin).
04 Cream Chamois (G) is a tone for medium skin tone with a yellow undertone. As far as I know, there is not much difference between #04 and #03 in the palette. The color is warm enough, in summer it will suit light-colored girls with a natural tan.
27 Alabaster (N) – a neutral pale pink shade for fair skin. It should be said that the difference between this and the first shade is insignificant. The main advantage is that this shade has no golden-warm or yellowish pigment.
The texture is thick and a little mousy, the degree of coverage is very high. It is most convenient to apply the foundation with a wet Beauty Blender or a kabuki brush. The coverage intensity can be easily varied by layering. One layer provides thin and smooth coverage while two layers help hide the imperfections of the skin.
The manufacturer positions Superbalanced Makeup teint equilibre parfait as a light foundation, but in my opinion, the coverage is closer to medium, and when layering is dense.
It blends well, doesn’t emphasize enlarged pores and doesn’t clog wrinkles. The foundation does not feel on the skin, gives a light, even and comfortable coverage without a “mask” effect.
It well masks unevenness, redness and minor imperfections. The finish is velvety matte, but it has a certain natural flare, the base is associated with matte silk.
Thanks to the content of micro sponge and biofield (a unique protein molecule derived from milk), it absorbs fat where it is needed.
Keeps your complexion true, as special perfluorinated pigments prevent grease and sweat from interfering and altering it.
Contains chamomile extract and vitamin E.
I don’t like overly thick foundations, so Superbalanced fits just fine. It looks beautiful and natural on the skin. Immediately after applying my foundation, I add a little highlighter or blush to brighten my face and make my skin look even more natural.
I can’t say how long the cream lasts on oily skin, because I have a combined type, prone to dryness.
I don’t use it as often in winter, as I currently prefer a more radiant coverage, and Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup SPF 15 is perfect for that purpose.
