4best eyeliners for creating a variety of arrows, as well as the criteria for choosing them
Eyeliner – one of the most necessary beauty products in any basic cosmetic bag: many cannot imagine their everyday makeup without arrows. What products should be used to create perfect lines and how to find “the right” eyeliner? We answer these and other questions.
HOW TO CHOOSE AN EYELINER?
To find the perfect eyeliner, consider several factors: the color of your eyes and the type of makeup you plan to use. If you are overwhelmed by the multitude of products in the store, ask a consultant – he will help you make the right choice according to your needs and your budget.
To test your product, put it on the back of your hand to see if you’re satisfied with the thickness and coverage of your lines. If you have sensitive or allergic skin, make sure the formula is hypoallergenic. How do cosmetic allergies manifest themselves? We already told you about it here.
TYPES OF EYELINERS
1 Eyeliner pencil
This is the most common type of eyeliner. First of all, it’s easy to apply. Secondly, it can be used to draw both thin and thick lines. Thirdly, it is usually very long-lasting. Comes in several formats – classic (pencil, which regularly needs to be sharpened) and mechanical.
2 Liquid eyeliner
For those who already have a hand in makeup and easily draw thin and neat lines on the eyelids, makeup artists advise using liquid eyeliner. It gives a saturated coverage, it sets quickly and does not fade during the day. If your skills in drawing arrows still leave much to be desired, with a liquid eyeliner is better to postpone.
3 The eyeliner pencil
If you want to draw thick or thin lines, use a pencil. Plus, it won’t smudge even if you slip your finger on it. Pencil eyeliner formulas are often water-resistant, so you can use a micellar oil or any two-phase product to make up your makeup. We’ve already talked about how to properly rinse off makeup in this piece.
4 Eye Shadow
Another option, with which you can bring the eyes and draw arrows – the usual eye shadows. You can apply them on top of the finished arrow to make the color more saturated, using a flat beveled brush. To make sure that they do not fall off or lose their saturation of color during the day, start the makeup by applying a primer.
HOW TO DRAW GRAPHIC ARROWS QUICKLY?
If you are just beginning to master the subtleties of makeup, choose an eyeliner with a felt tip – it is easier to draw your arrows.
Beginners can use other helpful tools, like a piece of paperweight, a spoon, or a credit card to draw fine, even lines.
1 Paper tape
The most problematic part of an arrow is usually the “tail.” To make it the right thickness, flat, and non-greasy, use a strip of paper tape. Glue it to the outer corner of the eye at an angle of 45 degrees (this is the best option), and then start drawing the “tail” of the arrow on it, like on a ruler. After obtaining a neat and smooth line, remove the tape and finish drawing the strip along the lash line. Done!
Another “tool” that is always on hand and can come in handy for creating smooth and clear arrows is a spoon. Unlike scotch tape, it will help to draw evenly not only the “tail” of the arrow, but also the main part of it. The algorithm is the same: put the spoon to the outer corner of the eye at an angle of 45 degrees, and then to the eyelid – so as to evenly draw an arc along it from the “tail” to the inner corner of the eye.
3 Business card
Every girl seems to have a credit, discount or business card. How can it help in creating arrows? Put it perpendicular to the top line of the outer corner of your eye to set the direction of the “tail” of the arrow. Draw it and then connect it to a line drawn along the lash line with a pencil, marker or liquid eyeliner.
4 By the Dots
For makeup beginners, the most difficult eyeliner to use is liquid eyeliner, but you can tame it too. Use it to put a few dots in a row along your eyelash growth line – this will be your “draft”. And then just connect the dots. If your hand shakes, put your elbow on the table so it has support.
5 Correct your mistakes
Another easy way for beginners to draw an arrow is to draw the line as you get it, and then correct the errors with a cotton swab dipped in water. Make-up remover will be useless for this as it will dissolve the eyeliner pigment and the arrow will drip.
For those who are not new to drawing arrows it’s easy: use eyeliner with a felt tip to draw a straight line as close as possible to the lashline. Important: Don’t forget that the arrow line must not overlap the crease of the eyelid, otherwise it will crease and the arrow will turn out to be irregularly shaped.
If you blur the contour of the arrow, it’s easy to correct it with eyeliner.
