If you want to lead a healthy lifestyle but don’t know where to start, just buy a fitness bracelet. This is the easiest and most affordable way to get motivated and start monitoring your health. After all, this smart gadget will literally make you get up from your chair to move and remind you of the number of steps you have taken. We have selected the best fitness bracelets available on market in 2021.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5
The Xiaomi Mi Band is already a household name for fitness bracelets and an absolute bestseller. And the fifth generation of the Mi Band can be called the best offer on the market in terms of value for money. The gadget costs almost one and a half times less than the last (sixth) version. At the same time, it also offers a large set of options and features.
The fitness bracelate is equipped with a high-quality 1.1-inch display with adjustable brightness. In addition to the standard functions of sleep monitoring, heart rate measurement and step counting, the “five” has eleven sport modes, including rowing and elliptical trainers, yoga and jumping rope. Thanks to water protection, the bracelet is suitable for swimming (but it is not recommended to dive in it).
Other useful features include notifications of incoming calls and messages, music playback control, remote camera control, and calculation of personal vital index (PAI). Especially for the female audience, the bracelet has a program to track the cycle.
Of the features we can note more than 65 dials, instructions with breathing exercises, the function of finding a smartphone. Unlike previous versions, the bracelet is equipped with magnetic charging – now the capsule can not be taken out of the strap. The autonomy of the gadget is impressive – up to 14 days of normal use. There is also a power-saving mode.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6
The last – the sixth generation – of the hit was introduced in early 2021. Compared to its predecessor, Mi Smart Band 6 “grew” the screen to a record for smart bracelets 1.56 inches and displays 50% more information. There is no touch button – now all management is done with gestures. The device comes with a black strap with antibacterial properties.
The number of activity modes increased to thirty: now street dancing, high-intensity interval training, boxing and zumba are among them. Six of them the device can detect automatically.
Other innovations include an improved interface design, the sought-after coronavirus blood oxygen sensor, improved sleep breathing monitoring, and kinetic scrolling of items on the screen.
The rest of the Mi Smart Band 6 features are virtually the same as its predecessor: there is a step counting function, sleep analysis, stress monitoring, heart rate monitoring, PAI calculation, women’s cycle tracking, alarm clock and more. As for interaction with the smartphone, through Mi Band 6 you can control music and the camera, reject or mute incoming calls, as well as receive various notifications.
The battery capacity remains the same – 125 mAh. Because of the larger screen, the overall battery life of the device decreased compared to the “five”, although it is still at a decent level – up to two weeks in normal mode and up to five days in intensive mode.
Samsung Galaxy Fit2
The latest generation of fitness bracelet from the Korean manufacturer has the greatest autonomy among the gadgets presented in our review. Thanks to the high-capacity battery of 159 mAh the device can work up to 21 days without recharging.
Galaxy Fit2 is comparable to Xiaomi models in appearance, features and price. For example, it has the same screen as the Mi Smart Band 5, but has more saturation and colorfulness due to the higher color depth. And the gadget is more comfortable to wear thanks to the breathable and absorbent silicone strap.
The device is able to automatically detect five types of activity – running, walking, dynamic training, rowing and elliptical trainer, and more than ninety sport modes are available in total. Of course, all the basic functions of a fitness bracelet are present here: sleep monitoring, counting steps and calories burned, heart rate measurement, timer, alarm clock, stopwatch, and more. You can also swim in the bracelet, but it is not suitable for diving.
Of interest are the functions to track water consumption and hand hygiene. In addition, from the bracelet you can respond to incoming messages using short preset templates. To customize the appearance of the device to your taste, there are more than 70 dials for you to choose from. But the Galaxy Fit2 does not have a blood oxygen level sensor, unlike the sixth Mi Smart Band.
Honor Band 6
The new model of the Chinese brand Honor is strikingly different from its predecessors: it is a kind of hybrid of a fitness bracelet and a smart watch. The first thing that catches your eye when you look at the gadget is a large and bright rectangular display with a diagonal of 1.47 inches. There is a physical button on the case to call up the main menu and activate the screen, increasing the ease of use.
Ten sport modes are programmed into the bracelet, six of which are automatically recognized by the device. The device has IP68 dustproofing and WR50 water resistance, so you can even dive to a depth of 50 meters. At the same time, the Honor Band 6 has a well-designed “Swimming” mode.
Monitoring sleep, heart rate, physical activity, calories, controlling music and smartphone camera, receiving and viewing messages and notifications – all this, of course, is there. Among the advanced features are blood oxygen level measurement, smart alarm clock, menstrual cycle tracking, stress monitoring, activity rings, breathing exercises, and even a flashlight realized by brighter display backlighting.
The battery of the bracelet is designed for about two weeks of standard use. It comes with a fast magnetic charger, which replenishes the device with energy for 3.5 days in 10 minutes.
Huawei Band 6
This is another hybrid of a smart bracelet and a smart watch. Despite the wider functionality and “seniority” of the brand, the bracelet from Huawei officially costs less than the Honor Band 6. Externally, the devices are similar: Huawei Band 6 also has a large 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a physical button. However, the case here is glossy, under the metal, and the dial design is more “youthful”.
But there are much more sport modes in the Huawei fitness watch – as many as 96! In addition, thanks to the proprietary TruSport algorithm, during the workout the gadget will monitor the maximum oxygen consumption, aerobic/anaerobic thresholds, and recovery time after the session.
The device has a sensor to measure blood oxygen levels. Unlike Honor, this function works all the time in real time, not only on demand. Otherwise, the bracelet’s parameters do not stand out among the competitors: there is also stress level tracking, sleep analysis, step counting, continuous heart rate monitoring, interaction with notifications and incoming calls from a smartphone. A bonus is the ability to answer a call with a text pattern.
Huawei Band 6 runs on battery power for up to 14 days with non-intensive use. Fast magnetic charging allows you to recharge the bracelet in 5 minutes to work for two days.
Garmin Vivosmart 4
The bracelet from the American manufacturer of professional navigation equipment is the most advanced gadget in our rating. Garmin Vivosmart 4 is a premium model. The device has a “brutally elegant” design and high-contrast monochrome display with automatic brightness adjustment.
From its competitors, the gadget is distinguished by increased ergonomics and almost does not feel on the hand, so it is comfortable to sleep with. The bracelet is available in two sizes: S/M and L. The device has a wide range of all kinds of functions. In addition to the standard set, there is a sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation, the phone search function, smartphone camera control, receiving alerts and notifications, 24-hour stress level monitoring, as well as the innovative function of measuring body energy reserves Body Battery.
In addition, Garmin Vivosmart 4 owners become members of the free Garmin Connect community, where you can not only track your progress, but also share activities and compete with friends. The bracelet can be worn while swimming and in the shower. Battery life lasts up to 7 days in standard mode.
