Studies have shown that depending on in what position is the consumer, the taste of his lunch and drinks changes.

Employees of the University of South Florida has caused stress in volunteers: they asked them to eat the fruit, holding heavy bags. The situation is reminiscent of the taste of food in the supermarket.

It turned out that the cargo in the hands of a significantly worsened the taste of food. It is associated with stress that were experienced by the volunteers.

When a person stands, gravity steals the main flow of blood in the lower part of the body. Because of this, the heart has to work harder. In this regard, activates the stress hormone. It reduces sensitivity and has an impact on the perception of temperature and the meal at all.

– This was confirmed by another experiment. We asked volunteers to drink coffee the same temperature. At the same time representatives of one group was sitting and the other standing. Those people that were on his feet said that the drink is not so hot, but sitting on the contrary assured that the coffee is scalding – said Henry Manson, the study’s author. Through time, the experiment was repeated several times, changing people. The results were similar.

Scientists also noticed that people who were on their feet, ate and drank less than sitting. In their opinion, this was due to the fact that physical activity suppresses the feeling of hunger.

Specialists are going to continue their research, believing that it can be useful in the development of programs for weight loss people who suffer from obesity and insatiable appetite.
